Go to most car meets nowadays and you will hear and see the term ‘JDM’ a hundred times. Whether it’s kids talking about their ‘JDM tow hook’ or the ‘JDM’ stickers plastered all over everyones’ cars, the term is thrown around far too loosely. That is, until Soe’s Amuse Z34 rolls by.

Definitely a car that demands a double-take, Soe’s Z34 comes with plenty of attitude and noise. “Suited up” with the full Powerhouse Amuse Z34 body kit, this Nissan has that Japanese look – the sort of styling we would dream of while staying up late watching old JDM Option videos.

Even if you didn’t see this car’s jaw-dropping looks, you’ll hear this coming down the road. With Stillen Gen 3 cold air intakes, Motordyne ART Pipes, and a Motordyne E370 exhaust, this car sounds as aggressive as it looks. It’s a beautiful combination of Motordyne’s raw, racecar-like growl and the deep, unique tone of Nissan’s VQ37HR motor.

Like most people, this car was bought with the intention to keep as close to stock as possible – a fun, daily driver that he didn’t need to worry about. Also like most people, that plan failed horribly. One of the first modifications was the set of KW Variant 3 coilovers. Although he originally didn’t want the car too low, he saw how good the car looked at that height and didn’t have the heart to raise the car.

Once the car was dropped and he got the full Powerhouse Amuse body kit to bring the body even closer to the ground, he knew he needed wheels to fill in those arches. Soe ended up going with bronze anodized Volk Racing TE37s and matching headlight shrouds to complete the car’s street-tuned look.

Keep in mind, this car is far from babied. It is daily driven – and driven hard at that. After all, what’s the point of spending the money on your car if you can’t enjoy it?

There’s been plenty of people telling him to go supercharged or turbocharged, but the purist in him can’t see himself going that route. For a street car, Nissan’s VQ37HR motor puts plenty of power to the rear wheels. Even with just bolt-ons, this car has all the power, torque, handling, and sound you could ever want out of a street-tuned daily driver.

For those of you who remember the feature on Jeff’s BRZ, here is a little bonus shot of the two of them. Since our shoot, Jeff’s BRZ has been through plenty of additions. Say hello to the TE brothers!

Soe also wants to give a shout-out to Mad Monkey Co. Originally a group of Nissan/Infiniti owners, the group has evolved into a great group of friends who own all different makes and models from a Yamaha R1 to a Nissan GT-R. Keep an eye out for the Mad Monkey Co. decal at your local meets and come say hi!
